Judith in her studio

In my studio

The energies and forms of the natural world are the starting point for much of my work. The printmaking techniques and materials I use are an additional inspiration and each different process offers a new approach. This can lead to many contrasts and changes in scale.

Living in Wales, the landscape with its wildlife, flora and fauna, is a never ending source of artistic nourishment.

Other recurring themes include still life, and working with texts and poetry.

I enjoy the challenge of developing images which resonate with the mood and atmosphere of the writing, rather than merely illustrate.

I was born in England and my early years were spent in various parts of Africa.

I graduated in Fine Art at the West of England College of Art, Bristol.

I moved to Wales and after a  career in teaching art, I am focussing on my own artistic interests, and in particular my love of printmaking.

My original prints are in many private and public collections.
